Welcome to the Stokenchurch and Radnage Community Action website. It is designed to keep you up to date on our activities and how we are helping to shape the future of the communities in which we live.
The Community Action Forum was established in 2002. Our objective was to help local bodies to maintain and improve the quality of life in our area. To do this, we needed to find out what people thought and where they felt change was required. In 2003 we undertook a comprehensive survey – nearly 60 questions - circulated to every one of over 2,000 households in the district. The response was tremendous – 38% of the questionnaires were returned.
Following analysis of the replies received, the 2004 VILLAGE PLAN was developed. This was used as a framework to help our two parish councils, Wycombe District Council and Bucks County Council together with other service providers to understand the needs of the community.
The Community Action Forum took the village plan as its mandate to lobby for improvements. Many of the issues identified were addressed and we believe that our initial objective was achieved.
Time moves on and circumstances change. In 2007 we felt that the time had come to make sure that our initiatives were still correctly focussed. We therefore launched a follow up survey, which was smaller and addressed more specific issues. This culminated in the 2007 VILLAGE SURVEY.
This time our report included an ACTION PLAN. This will enable us to track progress and keep everyone informed of the initiatives under way. Stokenchurch Parish Council has endorsed the Action Plan and we now make regular feedback reports to them. We will be making similar representations to Radnage Parish Council in the near future.
Please keep in touch with us, both by checking this website regularly and by using the CONTACT US facility if you can help or if you want to make any comments on the issues we raise.
